Hallelujah! Ben, you made my day, you made my year. I look forward to the day when I type in my debit card number for a subscription. Our beloved Santa Barbara News-Press is the Phoenix, rising from the ashes! Thomas Storke is applauding from Heaven.
Congratulations to Ben and WIlliam for finding a home for the News-Press. As those of us who care understand we live in a "News Desert" and desperately need more journalism, more voices, and just plain MORE. Thanks guys for making this happen!
Local news is tremendously important to our community. I think back to the many struggles over land use and the oil spills, for example, and how the News Press informed and involved us in the the decision making. Many thanks to those making this phoenix arise.
BEN ROMO, YOU ARE MY HERO! (And all who made this happen. I was a reporter for SBNP from 1978- to 1985 (went off staff when the NY Times bought it). The newspaper archives were HUGELY important to all of us looking up facts about Whatever Santa Barbara. The job of 2 women on staff was every day to clip all the local news, fold the clip to insert into alphabetized card-file drawers (like the days of an old library). You could find anything in a heartbeat. When it all went to microfiche in the downtown Library, you could not find anything. Nothing. And so an easy access to SB history was lost. Broke my heart. Today's news is the GREATEST, that those files have been saved.

I couldn’t be more excited! Bravo to all who are making this possible.
